The Bookkeeper Checkup Series of Value Propositions

Working page. First-person we. Quality you can measure, not a feeling.

We manage the books for over 400 companies. We manage a team of bookkeepers doing that. So we developed a system so we could see across the portfolio.

The system is not a heroic month-end cleanup. When the books are kept week by week, and the same quality checks run again and again, we can focus the team, raise the quality, and see problems earlier.

That work became the Bookkeeping Quality Report. It answers simple questions. Does the bank match the books? Are we reconciled through last month-end? Do expenses have a vendor? Is anything sitting uncategorized? Can we see who owes us money? Are balance-sheet accounts stale, or growing when they should not?

We built it to manage our own work. Quality you can measure, not a feeling.

The same system can sit in front of a customer. Bookkeeper Checkup is the first product. A business owner connects their accounting system and gets a report: are the books in good shape?

The first checkup can be free. The report is designed to be talked to. It is a system and a mind we hone over the 400 companies we have, and the thousand we mean to add.

When you put AI on bookkeeping, the first thing to pay attention to is quality and consistency. This is the quality layer.

The Checkup reports are lead magnets. They are also a new language for the work we have always done in the CFO practice. A clear question. A few data connections. A diagnostic. A report you can talk to. Then, if they want it, a weekly update and a person in the room.

Landing pages to produce

Draft only. Copy not locked. Hierarchy not locked.

Each page is one question, one ping. Same spine: headline as the question, one paragraph of why we can answer it (400 companies, we built this to see across our own bookkeepers), what you connect, what you get, CTA to the free Checkup and a conversation.

Do not overbuild. Ten simple pages. Watch which questions get a click, a free Checkup, and a scheduled conversation.

Shared chrome for every page:

1. Bookkeeper Checkup

URL: /checkup/bookkeeper/

Question: Is your bookkeeper doing a good job?

Connect: QuickBooks / the accounting file.

Report: bank vs books, last reconciliation, vendors on expenses, uncategorized, AR you can see, stale or monotonically growing balance-sheet accounts.

Upsell: keep the report updated, then books if they want them.

2. Books with errors

URL: /checkup/books-errors/

Question: Are there errors in your books?

Same engine as (1). Different door. Test the message, not a second product.

Connect: accounting file.

Report: the failed checks in plain English.

3. Unit Economics Checkup

URL: /checkup/unit-economics/

Question: Do you know your real unit economics?

Connect: QuickBooks plus Shopify / Stripe / billing.

Report: new vs repeat, customer life, cost to serve, gross margin, contribution.

May swallow data-quality checks rather than a standalone Data Checkup.

4. CAC Checkup

URL: /checkup/cac/

Question: Are you spending too much to acquire customers?

Connect: ad spend, new customers, sales cost, revenue.

Report: CAC vs what a customer is worth.

May nest under Unit Economics later. Test it as its own door because the question is sharp.

5. Sales Funnel Checkup

URL: /checkup/sales-funnel/

Question: Where is your sales funnel broken?

Connect: CRM.

Stages (names will differ; we normalize): Lead → Scheduled conversation → Conversation → Proposal issued → Proposal signed → First payment.

Report: this week vs average, conversion, time in stage, bottlenecks, salesperson spread. Not a CRM screenshot. Where growth is stuck.

6. Marketing Agency Checkup

URL: /checkup/marketing-agency/

Question: Is your marketing agency actually working?

Connect: Meta and other ads, site, Shopify or revenue.

Report: spend vs customers, which channels pay, whether reported results match the books.

7. SEO / AI Search Checkup

URL: /checkup/seo/

Question: Is your website ready for AI search?

Connect: the site, Google Search data.

Report: traditional SEO plus whether people and AI systems can find the business. Report not designed yet. Message test first.

8. Data / model quality (component, optional door)

URL: /checkup/data/ only if we test the message.

Question: Are there errors in your models?

Else: a section inside Unit Economics. Do not build a twelfth product until the message wins.

9. Full Business / Board Checkup

URL: /checkup/business/

Question: What should management focus on?

Combines the reports above into a board-ready pack: books, unit economics, funnel, CAC, marketing, priorities, questions for the room.

For after someone has taken more than one Checkup. Not the first ad.

10. Talk to the report (same Bookkeeper engine)

URL: /checkup/ask/

Question: What’s wrong with my books?

The conversational layer. Same checkup. Different door: ask, don’t download.

What each page does not need yet: final price, exact trial mechanics, custom app, agency-grade creative, ten distinct brands, human-review SLA.

After the pings: keep the two or three doors that get a click, a Checkup, and a conversation. Park the rest.

Internal working document — not for distribution.
