Sunlight on my Eyelids

A poem about the story in your head.

Staring at a blank Imagining a song It’s just me I’m singing to. How could I go wrong?

There is no one to hear it This bit inside my head It’s just me I’m singing to It’s nothing ‘til it’s read.

I hear the music playing I can see the score Like sunlight on my eyelids I’ll always want some more.

When anxiety conflicts And fights my little song I’ll sing a little louder Please come and sing along.

From Zen and the Art of [nothing] by John Zdanowski & Jeff Abrams, Chapter 13.
